The CDC’s temporary suspension for dogs entering the United States from high-risk countries for dog rabies implemented in July 2021 will be extended through July 31, 2024; all current requirements will remain in place. Learn more on CDC.gov.

USDA APHIS Veterinary Services (VS), along with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has specific requirements for dogs traveling (imported) to the United States (U.S.) from countries affected by particular diseases such as foot and mouth disease (FMD), screwworm, and rabies.
